Our first 5 seconds at the Marina Bay Sands sounded a little like this:
“OMG we do get robes!”
“OMG there’s a garbage can AND then a little can for recycling!”
“LOOK AT THE TUB!”
“There’s a phone next to the toilet!”
“Oh Wow, and a huge shower, omg omg did you check out the door?”
Anyone who has backpacked two or more weeks in Southeast Asia will understand how much of a complete savior Marina Bay Sands was to us. We arrived sweaty and bug bitten with two dirty, twenty something pound backpacks. We had been sleeping on top bunks for a few weeks and showering in mostly cold, outdoor showers (the kind where lizards may pop out of the drain, forcing you to run naked screaming). Most of the time toilet paper was a luxury.
But now we were at the Marina Bay Sands, the entrance to heaven. We opened our basic $600 room to find one of the most beautiful views of the Singapore skyline, and the largest hotel bathroom I’ve ever been in. This is exactly what we needed, and we weren’t even at the rooftop pool yet.
Welcome to the Marina Bay Sands rooftop infinity pool, the 8th wonder of the world (in our tired eyes). A true city mecca, the Marina Bay pool sits 57 floors above Singapore, allowing you to sun bathe among the skyline.
Marina Bay’s infinity pool is the world’s largest at this height and offers the best skyline view of Singapore.. even at night.. and even in the rain..
